Zach Wilson Traded to Denver Broncos

Former No. 2 Overall Pick Gets Fresh Start in Denver

Wilson Benched Three Times in New York

The New York Jets have traded quarterback Zach Wilson to the Denver Broncos, sources confirmed to ESPN. Wilson, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, has been benched three times in his career and has been dismissed by fans and media as a first-round bust.

The Jets have been shopping Wilson since the start of the offseason, and they have finally found a trade partner in the Broncos. Denver is in need of a quarterback after trading Russell Wilson to the Seattle Seahawks earlier this offseason.

Wilson will get a fresh start in Denver, where he will be reunited with former Jets offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. Hackett is now the head coach of the Broncos, and he is expected to give Wilson a chance to compete for the starting job.

The Jets will receive a package of draft picks in return for Wilson, including a second-round pick in 2024. The Broncos will also send a conditional pick to the Jets in 2025 that could become a first-round pick if Wilson plays well in Denver.

The trade is a major development for both the Jets and the Broncos. The Jets are now without a starting quarterback, while the Broncos have found their potential franchise quarterback of the future.
